Technical Designer/Scripter

We are looking for a Technical Designer to join the core game development team where you will be focusing on scripting dynamic, innovative, and exciting missions as well as prototyping and balancing unique game features for an unannounced project.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and script missions, scenarios, and gameplay features in first and third-person shooters for PC and Consoles
  • Realize the high-level vision of your levels, missions, or features through all stages of development from initial prototype to final shipped product
  • In close collaboration with programmers, work out specs and tech requirements for features, document them, and communicate them throughout the departments
  • Help fellow designers in debugging and optimizing various gameplay systems
  • Work and collaborate in a cross-discipline team on developing new exciting IP; from engineers to artists or fellow designers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in a Mission Scripter, Technical Designer, or Gameplay Designer position
  • Experience with the 3D world and level-building tools like Unreal Engine, Unity, or CryEngine
  • Shipped at least 1 title on PC or Consoles while working on the game from start to finish
  • Deep knowledge of traditional and visual scripting language for scripting levels and building gameplay features
  • Experience working in cross-discipline teams with programmers, artists, and animators

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Worked on shooters
  • Experience setting and enforcing technical rules
  • Experience with proprietary engines and toolsets
  • Degree in technical field or programming
  • Experience with various 2D and 3D software, like Maya or Max, and their pipelines
