Gameplay Programmer (Mid/Sr)

We are looking for a Gameplay Programmer to join our core game development team in Helsinki, Finland to work on our first title – Nine to Five.

As a Gameplay Programmer, you will be working in cross-discipline teams creating various game systems and features from scratch. You will have a lot of say in how things work, how they are developed and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Creating compelling game systems, ranging from player movement to gunplay to in-game purchases
  • Polishing the systems so our players find them easy and fun to use
  • Providing necessary tools to designers to efficiently use the systems
  • Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code

Requirements

  • Proficient in C++
  • Has worked on gameplay
  • Has worked in cross-discipline teams with artists and designers
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a dedication to improving your craft

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine 4
  • Has worked on PC and/or console shooters
  • Shipped a game or two
  • Worked on real-time multiplayer games
  • Worked on varying gameplay tasks including AI and animation

Lead Character Artist

We are looking for a Lead Character Artist to join the core game development team.
This person will have a key role in establishing the look, design and creation of the characters that populate the game worlds. The right candidate has the passion in crafting iconic characters and skills produce stunning, high quality and efficient AAA game content.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the character art team in development of high-quality AAA characters
  • Modeling, texturing and implementation of real-time character models 
  • Contributing to the references, concepts, and art direction, while also having the initiative to take the work further independently 
  • Working closely with the team and external partners to ensure that quality is consistent and cohesive

Requirements

  • Shipped a PC/Console title as a Lead Character Artist
  • 5+ years of experience in AAA game development (PC and/or console)
  • You have the passion to create designs fit for a first-person shooter game
  • Demonstrated ability in designing and crafting believable characters
  • You have proficient knowledge of Unreal Engine, Maya / Modo / MudBox / ZBrush, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter or equivalent package

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Understanding of industrial and product design
  • Interest and understanding of believable military aesthetics and designs
  • You have excellent understanding of form, shape, structure, and anatomy
  • Strong traditional art skills such as painting, drawing or sculpting
  • Experience with modular character sets

Lighting Artist

We are looking for a talented Lighting Artist who possesses the ability to light environments, cutscenes and characters for an FPS video game. This position has a significant impact on many teams work and is responsible for creating atmosphere, realism, tone, depth, drama or narrative. They will also establish and clarify location, weather, time of day for all our game world.

Responsibilities

  • Build beautiful real-time lighting for environments, interiors, character and props for our games
  • Work closely with the Art Director, Characters and Environment Teams to establish the aesthetic and technical standards for the games lighting and style
  • Use lighting to emphasize focus, and to establish/clarify location, weather, time of day
  • Proactively seek opportunities to elevate the game, enjoy improving workflows using emerging technologies, embrace constructive feedback, and thrive in a highly collaborative environment
  • Collaborate with the Technical Art and Engineering teams to develop tools and pipelines
  • Challenge yourself to use the most efficient lighting approach possible without sacrificing visual quality

Requirements

  • 5+ years of lighting art experience in the game industry
  • At least one shipped PC or console game title
  • Experience with lighting in the UE4 pipeline
  • A good understanding of PBR lighting theory, current game tech and development methods
  • Ability to balance quality and technical constraints
  • An understanding of spatial composition and lighting techniques that influence mood, tone, and aesthetic within a scene (natural lighting, key lighting, three point, etc.)
  • A demonstrated understanding of rendering principles for human skin, hair, and clothing

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Basic skills in photography

Senior 3C Designer

We are looking for a Senior 3C Designer to join the core game development team where this person will be leading the creation of compelling character controls, features and design on both PC and Console game.

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of designing, prototyping, and implementing character control features
  • Working closely with programmers and animators on delivering the best in class character controls for multiplatform first person shooter game
  • Creating specifications and mockups to demonstrate your ideas to the team
  • Cooperating with other designers on other second to second and combat features
  • Collaborating together with the disciplines leads to improve design workflows and practices

Requirements

  • 6+ years working on multiplatform (PC & Console) first person shooters
  • Shipped at least one PC and/or Console first person shooter game as a 3C Designer
  • Experience working in cross-discipline teams with programmers, character artists and animators on delivering compelling character controls
  • Has been responsible of developing entire gameplay features from start to finish
  • SuperB communication and presentational skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a dedication to improving your craft

The ideal candidate will also have

  • Worked as a 3C designer on first person multiplayer shooter games
  • Worked as a 3C designer with Unreal Engine 4
